Tristan Thompson’s mum Andrea dies suddenly after heart attack

Tristan Thompson’s mum Andrea has died suddenly after suffering from a heart attack at home.

The 31 year old basketball player's mother Andrea was rushed to hospital on Thursday in Toronto, Canada, but it is believed they were not able to resuscitate her.

It is understood by TMZ that Tristan was in Los Angeles with his ex Khloe Kardashian at the time and reportedly left in a private jet to be with his family.

A source told the publication that Khloe, 38, joined Tristan to comfort him during this sad time and she was also close to his mum Andrea.

Khloe was pictured getting off the private jet alongside the NBA player shortly after his mum passed away.

Many fans have waded in to pass on their condolences to Tristan on his social media.

One wrote: "Rest in peace," while another said: "Sorry for your loss…sending you love and light."

A third shared: "May her beautiful soul RIP."

Tristan and Khloe share four-year-old True and a baby boy – who was born in August.

Tristan is also father to six-year-old son Prince with ex Jordan Craig and a 13-month old son named Theo – who he shares with Maralee Nichols.

Tristan – who has younger brothers Amari, Dishawn, and Daniel – previously spoke of his mother and the relationship they have as mother and son.

"Even though I don’t live at home and I’m four hours away from home, I talk to my mom every day – ask how the kids are doing, ask how she’s doing, too," he told NBA.com.

"Everyone knows that my mom, she’s very dedicated in taking care of her sons – especially Amari. But at the same time, you need to make sure that she’s ok.

"It’s asking a lot for one parent to do, so I always try to make sure that she’s doing well, too.“

He said: “Whether she’s getting a massage or just get out of the house and have a babysitter watch for a couple hours, that’s crucial.“

Back in May 2020, Tristan shared a video of his mother with a sweet caption as he paid a tribute to her on Mother's Day.

He wrote on Instagram: "Happy Mother’s Day Mommy! One day isn’t enough to praise and lift you high. Everyday is your day.

"Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and my brothers. I love you and I’m soo lucky to have been chosen as your son. Not all superheroes wear capes."
