TOWIE’s Amy Childs says boyfriend Billy Delbosq is The One: ‘We’re very happy’

Reality star and TOWIE’s OG honey is back again, and this time she’s joined by her new fella Billy Delbosq, 38 – and she couldn’t be happier. After a string of heartbreaks, Amy Childs, 32, finally thinks she’s found The One with the gym owner, and she tells us that the duo are even on the hunt for a new home together.

Also by her side throughout the new series will be her two kids, five-year-old Polly and son Ritchie Jr, four, from previous relationships.

Here, in an exclusive interview with OK! Amy tells us all about her new man and why she’ll always be there for her friend Lauren Goodger…

Hi, Amy. You look very loved-up. How did you and Billy meet?

We met in London. I was on a night out with the girls. We have quite a few mutual friends, so we just spoke to one another and exchanged numbers.

It wasn’t until nine weeks later that we went on our first date, although we chatted to each other every day before that.

I’m a mum of two, so I can’t just drop everything and go dating. Of course I liked him, but he was just a friend at first. We went out and I met his mates, and it quickly went from there. I really hope hand on my heart that he’s the one for me. He’s kind, and we’re very happy together.

It must be serious if you both had tattoos done together…

We had them done in November last year. Billy is covered in tattoos – he’s tattoo-mad! We’d had a few drinks when he suggested getting matching ones. It wasn’t overnight though – I had to really think about it.

Will you have your children’s names tattooed on next?

Definitely! I can’t really take pain, and it was very uncomfortable, but I’ll probably have Polly and Ritchie’s names tattooed on me in the future.

Is Billy The One?

Yes! Not only do we get on well, but he’s wonderful with my kids. He’s just gone onto TOWIE, and it’s all new to him. There are highs and lows to every relationship, and we’ve got through them – which you’ll see on this series.

Some say he looks a bit like Michael Owen…

Everyone says that to me, but I don’t think so. Having said that, people reckon Polly looks like my mum, and I can’t see that either.

Is it true that you want to move house?

Yes, I’ve been in my existing place for quite a long time – there are lots of lovely memories, but I’ve reached a point where I want to move on. I’d like to buy a house and do lots of work to it, and Billy said he’d like a project as well, but finding somewhere is proving tricky. I’ve not sold my home yet, but I have a few viewings lined up. We’ll stay in Essex, as I wouldn’t move anywhere else, but we’d like to be in the countryside. I’d like to be like 15 minutes away from Brentwood.

Are you glad you invested your money wisely when you found fame?

Your fortune can quickly disappear when you’re in the public eye, so I bought the property. I own my home in Brentwood, I have three other properties which I rent out. My parents advised me wisely when it came to my finances.

Have you reached out to Lauren Goodger?

My little girl Polly just loves birthday parties, and every day she’ll ask me, “Who’s party are we going to today, Mummy?” So I took her to Lauren’s daughter [Larose]’s first birthday party. Lauren and I starred on TOWIE all those years ago, and with what she’s been through we’ve been there to support her. We might not see each other all the time, but when something happens, we are always there.

Is there pressure to look good when you’re filming with the other TOWIE girls?

I’m a mum now and I’ve got two children – I’m real. I wore an all-in-one swimsuit rather than a bikini when
we visited the Dominican Republic. Your body completely changes when you’ve had kids, so for me I’m not in any competition. I’m a dress size 10, and I’m content with that.

Do you work out regularly?

Having children means I’m not able to work out all the time, but if I can get to the gym I’ll go. I try to train twice a week. I also bought myself a Peloton bike in lockdown. A quick half an hour on it can burn up to 300 calories, and last week I rode it every day. I try to squeeze in a 6am session before the kids wake up.
