Rylan Clark certainly didn’t hold back when a Twitter user claimed he would not purchase any vehicles from Cinch for as long as the former X Factor star was working with the company.

@JD0244112 took to their account on Tuesday, writing: “@cinchuk I will never buy a car from you whilst that complete buck tooth ignoramus @Rylan is advertising your company! Illiterate, talentless, council nobody!

Then walk mate

“@CazooUK please learn from this!”

Given that he was tagged in the tweet, Rylan did come across the remark.

The 33-year-old wasted no time in hopping on the social media platform to respond.

“THEN WALK MATE,” Rylan said, in view of his 1.7 million followers.

The Strictly: It Takes Two presenter began working with Cinch in late 2020, having shot a series of adverts with the firm since then.

Fans were quick to jump to Rylan’s defence in the comment section, with @Katefox19994768 writing: “There is no need for that. My mum always said, “If you can’t say anything nice, then say nothing.”

@JMV999 continued: “I think Rylan is a great example of a modern Brit.

“He enjoys what he does immensely and genuinely and it shows. I think he has genuine empathy and he thinks ill of none (unless as an ‘act’).

“I wish all the very best for him.”

@Janejiggs stood firmly by Rylan’s side, adding: “Yes I’m old too and think Rylan is amazing. He works really hard, loves his Mum and behaves like a loving caring man to his friends, it seems.

“What more can you ask? Much better than rude Tom!”

Following Rylan’s split from husband Dan Neal in June 2021, the Stepney local took four months off from work to focus on his mental health.

Rylan and Dan had been married since 2015.

Rylan shared a statement on their break-up earlier this year, which read: “Following reports about Dan and I spending time apart, I feel I have to speak out – as the way it is being reported is unfair.

“I have made a number of mistakes which I deeply regret and have inevitably led to the breakdown of our marriage.

He added: “I have taken time away from work as I am not in a good place at the moment and am seeking help. I am trying to take each day at a time and would like to thank everyone for their support and for respecting our privacy at this time.”

Filming a new advert for Cinch in September was Rylan’s first on-screen gig since his split.

He would take to his Twitter page that same month to assure fans he was doing much better after taking some time to regroup.

“Couple of news stories today,” he told his followers.

“Be assured, I’m good. I wasn’t, but I am now x.”

During an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine last month, Rylan promoted his new podcast The Ry-Union, where he touched on his difficult split from Dan.

“I’m obviously going through a mid-life, trying to dye my hair blonde, new teeth,” he joked.
