‘The Bachelorette’ Stars Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark’s Romance Allegedly Got ‘Strained’ Before Split

The former couple, who met and fell in love in Season 16 of the long-running dating reality series, reportedly call it quits after they find it ‘difficult’ to schedule time together.

AceShowbizTayshia Adams and Zac Clark have called it quits nearly one year after their engagement aired on ABC’s dating reality series “The Bachelorette“. Confirming their breakup was a representative of Tayshia.

On Monday, November 22, a spokesperson for the 31-year-old TV personality stated, “Tayshia Adams and Zac Clark are no longer a couple.” However, the exes’ close friends admitted that their breakup didn’t come as a total surprise.

A source close to the former couple told PEOPLE that Tayshia and Zac “didn’t see them getting to a wedding.” The source added, “Things have been strained through the fall. Both of their schedules have been really tough.”

“Tayshia has been very busy and Zac also has a lot on his plate. Scheduling time together was just very difficult,” the informant continued to say of Tayshia, who has been co-hosting “The Bachelorette”, and Zac, who is the co-founder of Release Recovery, an addiction treatment center and transitional living facility. “She’s also way more comfortable in the spotlight because of her job and he’s much less so,” the insider added.

The so-called inside source further noted, “At the end of the day, they’re very different people.” The source concluded, “They’re both good people — she’s amazing and he’s a great guy and very passionate about his work,” before pointing out, “But they’re a total mismatch.” A separate source also told Us Weekly that there was “noticeable tension between them” during a recent outing.

“They both felt the pressure of navigating a public relationship, but in different ways. It really started to wear on them each as individuals,” another source told Page Six of the pair’s decision to part ways. “They started drifting apart in recent months and ultimately came to realize that they don’t work as a couple.”

Speculation that there was trouble in paradise began circulating on social media after Tayshia was spotted walking the red carpet solo. When attending the “House of Gucci” premiere in New York City on November 16, she was also photographed without her engagement ring.
