Rochelle Humes ‘scared’ of daughter Alaia turning 10: ‘How am I a grown-up?’

Rochelle Humes has given an insight into her family life, and the feeling of watching her children growing up so fast.

Talking to OK! exclusively, she describes the moment her daughter Alai-Mai, 9, asked her about skincare, and how it made her feel like a "grown up".

She explained: "I know I’m responsible enough for kids but I’m still like, ‘My God, how am I a grown-up?’

"She [Alaia] was small yesterday and now she’s asking me what moisturiser she can put on her face – which is also quite fun, doing some girlie stuff together.

"She was like, ‘For my birthday, I think I just want skincare,’ and I was like, ‘What?!’ At 10, I didn’t know about things like that. My mum showed me how to wash my face with water and that was about it!"

Rochelle has three children – Alani-Mai, six-year-old Valentina Raine and two-year-old Blake Hampton – with JLS musician, DJ and TV presenter Marvin Humes.

The couple have been married for over 10 years, after marrying in July 2012 at Blenhim Palace.

The singer and This Morning presenter has spoken before about relying on her mum to help out with childcare, following a "bad experience" with a nanny previously.

She describes her mum as "obsessed" with her grandchildren, wanting to spoil them rotten.

"My mum is really good with it [babysitting], mainly because she’s obsessed with my kids, but it suits me," she says. “There are no rules when we’re not there, she doesn’t stick to strict bed times, so they love it.

"I just shut my ears and pretend I don’t know that."

When she’s not on our screens – Rochelle co-presents Ninja Warrior UK on top of her daily morning TV appearances – she’s definitely kept busy by her three little ones, as they love to do all kinds of activities.

"I feel like I’ve bought every single uniform for every single after-school activity," Rochelle says. "In the summer, Alaia was like, ‘Mummy, I want to be a tennis player!’ so we got her one for Christmas and now she doesn’t like it. They like to give everything a go."

And tiny tot Blake doesn’t miss out on the action, according to Rochelle. In fact, all he wants to do is keep up with his big sisters.

"On a weekend, the girls are at dancing, singing and drama classes – you name it,” she says. “And Blake has now started [toddler football class] Little Kickers. I don’t really know what he does there, but it’s his thing.

"He doesn’t do the dancing yet because he’s not old enough, but he’d love to do anything that his sisters are doing."

Rochelle has partnered with Colgate to launch the #BeUltra campaign, celebrating Colgate Max White Ultra whitening toothpaste. Colgate Max White Ultra Fresh Pearls are available at Boots, Superdrug, ASDA, Morrisons, Tesco, Ocado, Sainsburys, Waitrose and Amazon.
