Rachel Riley has revealed she’s expecting her first baby with Strictly Come Dancing’s Pasha Kovalev, sharing the news with fans through a Countdown conundrum.
Really, how else would she do it?!
The presenter shared an adorable snap of herself cradling her stomach in front of the Countdown board, with letters that spell out ‘maternity’ when rearranged.
‘Pash and I have a conundrum for you… you have til December to work it out!’ she tweeted.
‘We’re over the moon excited!’
Fans and friends have been quick to congratulate the 33-year-old, with Strictly star Stacey Dooley going ham with the party emojis and adding: ‘Congrats!!!’
‘GANCINUORTSLAO!!!!!’ Pointless host Richard Osman added, in true Countdown fashion.
The pro dancer and TV presenter met on Strictly in 2014 when they were paired up. They’ve insisted that nothing happened between them until after the show was over and they’ve been going strong ever since.
However, with Pasha and his most recent partner Ashley Roberts reaching the final this year, Rachel admitted she can’t watch her boyfriend dancing with anyone else.
‘It’s kind of left its mark,’ she said. ‘[Watching him] just makes me feel nervous – so I make myself busy when it’s on. I leave Pasha to it!’
She added to Radio Times: ‘[I watch] occasionally. I like to see how the clothes come over on screen, because they look completely different. And I do still like watching the numbers game.’
Pasha has since quit the show after eight years as a pro dancer, telling fans in a statement: ‘After scoring 93 perfect tens, reaching 4 finals and lifting 1 glitter ball, it’s time for me to find a new challenge and so I’ve decided to make last year – my final season on Strictly.
‘I’ve had 8 fantastic years, full of wonderful memories, thanks to the incredible partners, professionals and myriad of behind the scenes teams who all work to make Strictly the amazing production that it is.’
Looks like he’ll have plenty of dad duties to keep him busy.
