Prince William and Kate Middleton’s friend dies in Kenya plane crash

A close friend of Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton's has tragically died in a plane crash.

Pilot Mark Jenkins and his son Peter were flying over Tsavo National Park when the incident took place.

Taking to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news, William paid tribute to his friend who “dedicated his life” to protecting wildlife in East Africa.

“Yesterday, I lost a friend, who dedicated his life to protecting wildlife in some of East Africa’s most renowned national parks,” a statement read. Mark Jenkins, and his son Peter, were tragically killed when flying over Tsavo National Park while conducting an aerial patrol."

“Tonight, I’m thinking about Mark’s wife, family and colleagues who’ve sadly lost a man we all loved and admired. W”.

According to the Frankfurt Zoological Society, Mark and Peter had been conducting an aerial patrol when their plane tragically crashed on Thursday 8 December.
