Offset praises Cardi B's stepmom skills, plus more news

Cardi B and Offset open up about their blended family

When Cardi B married rapper Offset in September 2017, she became a stepmom to his daughter Kalea, 7, and sons Kody, 7, and Jordan, 12, and as Offset recently told Essence, she’s a pro at the role. The couple — who now also share 3-year-old daughter Kulture and 7-month-old son Wave — open up in the magazine’s May/June 2022 cover story about how they prioritize their blended family while juggling busy careers. “It’s a blessing to be able to have them all together, and to have a wife who’s open and treats them as if they’re her kids,” Offset says of his children with Cardi and from previous relationships. “It could be an issue, but I don’t have to go through that, and that’s beautiful.” Cardi chimed in about being a stepmom, too. “I feel like sometimes people go into a relationship with a man or a woman who has kids with negativity — and I feel like people should embrace it, and love it. I love our family, and I wouldn’t want it any other way,” she said. “After we got married, that’s when I first met his kids,” the rapper added. “I always wanted them to love me, and they really do. They tell me that. I feel it, and I hope that we always have a great relationship.” The rappers revealed the name of their newest addition — their son, Wave Set Cephus — earlier this week.

Wendy Williams is ‘enjoying life again,’ ‘ready to get back to work’ after health and financial struggles

After spending much of the past year battling health issues, Wendy Williams looked “vibrant” and sounded “confident” while dining at New York City’s Fresco by Scotto this week with financial expert Baruch Shemtov, Page Six reported on Thursday, April 15. “Wendy was talking to Baruch about her situation with Wells Fargo and she confidently said ‘I’m getting my money back very soon,'” an onlooker told the tab. Wendy, 57, has been at war with Wells Fargo to regain control of her accounts after the bank froze them in February and told her she needs a guardian to access her assets. That same month, Debmar-Mercury, the production company behind “The Wendy Williams Show,” announced the daytime talk staple will be replaced by “Sherri,” hosted by Sherri Shepherd, due to Wendy’s health problems. The company said execs “hope to be able to work with Wendy again” in the statement. And according to one Page Six source, Wendy’s “ready to get back to work.” Said the insider: “When you hear her talk… anyone who’s known her for years, knows they’re getting a Wendy who’s ready to work. She’s really in good form.” Though she was wheelchair-bound at one point after testing positive for COVID-19 while dealing with Graves disease, she looked “great” and was walking on her own without issue at dinner this week, a spy told the outlet. “She’s planting her roots back in New York and you’ll see a lot more of her. She’s very comfortable, and is enjoying life again,” said a source. “She took some time off and now she’s ‘out with the old and in with the new.’ It’s like a rebirth.”

Bob Odenkirk reflects on the ‘beauty and love’ he got ‘from strangers’ after heart attack

Bob Odenkirk’s heart attack on the set of “Better Call Saul” last summer taught him something unexpected: Social media — and people, for that matter — can be pretty amazing after all. The actor stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Thursday, April 14, and took a moment to thank fans for their outpouring of support and concern after he was rushed to the hospital in July 2021. “It’s still something I think about every day. I literally lay in bed at night listening to my heart and thinking about all the people who responded when they heard this happened, and just every chance I get, I want to say thank you to everyone,” he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Joking that he always assumed social media was “a place of poison and evil,” Bob explained that his perspective has changed. “Then this moment was just beauty and love from strangers. And I don’t really have it figured out yet except that it felt so d*** good and still does. People aren’t as bad as I thought they were,” he quipped. Asked about his return to work to finish shooting Season 6 of the show, Bob admitted he doesn’t remember the heart attack or the week that followed. “We shot half the scene, and then I died, and then five weeks later, we came back to shoot the other half of the scene,” he joked. “And I had to watch it because I don’t have any memory of this incident or the next eight days.”The final season of “Better Call Saul” airs Monday, April 18.

John, who completed a rehab stint for substance abuse in 2020, has also spoken candidly with fans and press about his mental health, telling a “Saturday Night Live” audience in February that after “a complicated year … life is a lot better and happier now.” John, 39, filed for divorce from his wife, Anne Marie Tendler, in 2021.
