Voice-over performances by Donald Glover and Beyoncé are highlighted in a set of 11 character posters that Disney has released for the upcoming remake of The Lion King.
Two of the posters portray photos of the film’s main characters, Simba and Nala, along with the name of the artists – Glover as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala.
Aside from Glover and Beyoncé, The Lion King will feature a number of marquee names, including Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, James Earl Jones as Mufasa and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar.
Director Jon Favreau‘s “live-action” remake of The Lion King will release in theaters on July 19.
The 1994 animated film detailed Simba’s childhood, which was marred by the loss of his father at the hands of his treacherous uncle Scar. After fleeing from his family, Simba returns as an adult to avenge his father’s death by duking it out with his uncle.
