Neil Jones, 37, couldn’t resist teasing his Strictly Come Dancing 2019 partner Alex Scott on her pre-show preparations this evening. The professional dancer spotted the former footballer getting her hair and makeup done backstage with plenty of assistance. Neil filmed the star getting her beauty look perfected by three members of Strictly’s team just before the live show, where they are set to be dancing the Charleston. In an Instagram story video, which the dancer shared with his 199,000 followers, Neil cheekily said: “Wow look how much she’s changed.
“She’s got three people around her doing it.
“Wow, she’s changed! Completely!”
Fortunately, Alex saw the funny side of Neil’s mischievous remark as she giggled away at his antics while makeup artists added the final touches.
Elsewhere, the football pundit admitted she was “absolutely shattered” after completing 13 hours of training with Neil during the week.
Alex, who celebrated her birthday on Monday, revealed her body hurts from rehearsing the energetic routine but she worked hard to give her best performance on Saturday night.
Taking to her Instagram Stories following her busy day, Alex told her 300,000 followers: “13 hours of rehearsals today and had no time to post. #mybad absolutely shattered my body hurts”.
She continued: “This Charleston routine is FULL ON…BUT…It’s so FUN & I [heart emoji] it…”
Showing her determination to improve, Alex went on to add, “At it again tomorrow to make sure we are doing everything we can to make it our best week yet”.
Neil also addressed Alex’s hard work in an Instagram post.
He said: “Wow, you can’t imagine, this is the longest day I’ve ever spent in the studio… 13 hours.
“Alex is working so hard, she wants this dance to be her best yet. I’m tired.”
Last weekend, the duo got into the spirit of their dramatic Tango by having a light-hearted argument before their performance.
Katya Jones’ ex filmed Alex behind-the-scenes at Elstree Studios as he said to the camera: “I’m here with Spicy Scott but for some reason she’s not talking to me today.”
Alex hit back: “I haven’t forgiven you, this argument is not over yet. It’s not finished until after the dance, okay?”
Neil said response: “All because I didn’t do the washing up, wow.”
The dancer then turned to his fellow pro Luba Mushtuk to ask for her for advice about the issue, as he complained: “Luba, for some reason Alex isn’t talking to me.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs tonight at 6.40pm on BBC One.
