Meghan King Edmonds Reacts as Husband Jim's 'Mistress' Identity is Exposed

The alleged mistress, Jennifer McFelia Villegas, is reportedly well known among baseball circles.

The woman who had an alleged affair with Meghan King Edmonds‘ husband, Jim Edmonds, has now been identified.

Sources confirmed to Us Weekly Friday, the alleged mistress is Jennifer McFelia Villegas, who reportedly was sent explicit messages and videos from Jim in 2018 — while his former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star wife was giving birth to their twins.

On Friday, Meghan reacted to the identification of Villegas, a woman who also reportedly has a past with multiple professional athletes, specifically baseball players.

"I only blame my husband for his actions: he made the choice to betray my trust and jeopardize our marriage," the former reality star told Us Weekly in a statement. "His recklessness also allowed this woman to profit from my heartbreak — but now that her name is out there, she won’t be able to shake down any other families as I rebuild mine."

Villegas, on the other hand, also spoke about her alleged involvement in the cheating scandal.

"I want to make a few things very clear — I never set anyone up, blackmailed anyone nor have I attempted to ruin anyone’s family," she told AllAboutTea.com, who first reported the affair. "All my relationships have involved two consenting adults. I made a poor decision to enter a relationship with a married man, and for that I am sorry."

"I am no saint," she continued. "My past includes two DUIs and for that I am deeply remorseful and I’ve learned from my mistakes. My life today is completely devoted to my relationship with God and my daughter."

When news first broke of Jim’s alleged conversation with Villegas earlier this month, the former professional athlete admitted to the exchange, however, he denied any "physical contact."

"Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment," he told US Weekly in a statement. "I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person. At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past."

In response, Meghan authored a lengthy blog post where she opened up about her husband’s alleged cheating scandal in detail and expressed where she now stands on their marriage. The "RHOC" alum, who shares 1-year-old twin sons, Hart and Hayes and 2-year-old daughter, Aspen, with Jim, said she no longer trusts her husband.

Meanwhile, according to Us Weekly, Jim’s "inappropriate conversation" with Villegas isn’t the first time the woman has attempted to contact professional athletes. The publication noted five sources, including a few former baseball players who claimed to have been contacted by Villegas.

One of the sources told the publication Villegas has allegedly been reaching out to baseball players since 2003. "She will find a way to get around players who like to go out and cling to the ones that converse with her" the insider claimed.

While one particular insider alleged MLB security had been "notified many times about this woman, but has failed to take action," another source said the organization has stepped in, even banning Villegas from certain parks.

"[The MLB] did receive reports regarding the woman in question from 2008 and 2012, but they have not heard about an incident involving her since 2012," the source said. "They had contact with her to stop certain conduct."

The publication also reported Villegas has had encounters with the law in the past. In 2012, she was arrested for a DUI in Georgia. Back in 2016, the 34-year-old was accused of "her infant daughter in her car … with no supervision," according to court documents obtained by Us. Villegas was consequently fined $500, agreed to 12 months of probation and was forced to complete parenting courses and life skills classes.
