Kelly Clarkson covered Tina Turner‘s “A Fool In Love” for the “Kellyoke” segment on her talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” on Wednesday, December 2.
“And listen, he’s got me smiling when I should be ashamed/ Got me laughin’ when my heart is in pain/ Oh no, I must be a fool/ ‘Cause I’ll do anything he wants me to, now how come?” Clarkson sang.
“A Fool in Love” was the debut single by R&B duo Ike & Tina Turner. It was released on Sue Records in 1960. It was a big hit after its release and peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Billboard Hot R&B Sides chart.
Clarkson has covered several classic songs since “The Kelly Clarkson Show” premiered, including Amy Winehouse‘s rendition of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” Aerosmith‘s classic “Dream On,” Donna Summer‘s hit “She Works Hard for the Money,” and Shania Twain‘s “No One Needs To Know.”
