Karen Hauer reveals her ‘worst fears came to life’ with Jamie
The 38-year-old has been a professional dancer on Strictly since 2012 and has danced with many celebrities on the show. But her “worst fears” came to life during the 2020 series as she danced alongside Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing, 32, for the first time.
She described the moment on Jamie’s podcast Private Parts.
Karen said: “It’s the first time that I’m going to go out there with someone new you know with a new celebrity, and I have no idea the tension and the level of anxiety and stress.
“I look like I’m all smiley and I’m all cute and stuff no no no on the inside I’m going I have no idea what he is going to do.
“So I have to prep, and when I saw what he did, I was like, oh my god.”

Francis Boulle, who presents the podcast alongside Jamie, then asked: “What did he do?”
Karen replied, laughing: “He forgot everything.”
Jamie then went on to explain how within their first dance together he had to perform a 10-15 second solo away from Karen.
During the solo, he admitted he was off in his timings, and due to a large glitterball, Karen was initially unaware.
As the glitterball was lifted, the pro dancer opened up on how watching him was like living a “nightmare”.
Talking of his timing, Karen explained: “You went off but the thing is during the rehearsals he was fine.
“Then, the real red light turned on, and I was like what the hell is happening, and my worst fears came to life.
“That’s the nightmare you always dream of: ‘what is your celebrity going to do; what are they going to do?’”
