Jennifer Lawrence unveils unusual two-letter baby name and confirms tot’s gender

Jennifer Lawrence has officially unveiled her baby’s unusual name and gender, as she confirmed to the October issue of Vogue magazine that she had given birth to a little boy earlier this year.

The Oscar winner’s first child who she shares with her husband of three years Cooke Maroney, 38, has been named Cy after the couple’s love of postwar American painter Cy Twombly.

The Silver Linings Playbook star and her husband were first linked in 2018 and got engaged the following February, before welcoming little Cy into the world back in February 2022.

The Hunger Games star, 32, had up until now kept her son’s gender and name a closely guarded secret, but finally went public with the information in the upcoming edition of Vogue.

Speaking to the publication, Jennifer also frankly talked about the whole experience of becoming a parent and revealed that while motherhood had been “scary” to talk about, she was also “fortunate” to have a support network of other girlfriends that had been through pregnancy to rely on for support.

Discussing her new found motherhood, Jennifer told Vogue: “It’s so scary to talk about motherhood. Only because it’s so different for everybody. If I say, ‘It was amazing from the start’, some people will think, ‘It wasn’t amazing for me at first’ and feel bad.

“Fortunately, I have so many girlfriends, who were honest, who were like, ‘It’s scary. You might not connect right away. You might not fall in love right away’ So I felt so prepared to be forgiving.”

“I remember walking with one of my best friends at, like, nine months, and being like, ‘Everyone keeps saying that I will love my baby more than my cat. But that’s not true. Maybe I’ll love him as much as my cat?’”.

Despite any reservations however, Jennifer admitted that she was “so in love” after giving birth.

She told the magazine: “The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over. Like, now is day one of my life.

“I just stared. I was just so in love. I also fell in love with all babies everywhere.

“Newborns are just so amazing. They’re these pink, swollen, fragile little survivors. Now I love all babies. Now I hear a baby crying in a restaurant and I’m like, ‘Awwww, preciousssss’.”

Fans hoping to see Jennifer return to our screens since becoming a mother also won’t have long to wait, as she is due to return in Lila Neugebauer directed Causeway alongside Brian Tyree Henry in November.

The Apple TV+ film, will see Jennifer sink her teeth into a serious dramatic role, as she plays a a soldier struggling to adjust to her life after returning home to New Orleans.
