Faye Brookes has broken her social media silence after her alleged fling.
The actress, 32, chose to ignore the claims she had a romantic dalliance with her Coronation Street co-star Sam Robertson during a two-week break from Gareth Gates .
In the romance department, Faye has been newly-single following the demise of her romance with the singer, 35.
Instead, the bombshell turned her attention to her doting fans as she responded to their flurry of gushing messages in the lead up to her exit from Corrie next week.
Faye apologised to her fans for leaving her role as Kate Connor on the soap and she thanked them for their kind words.
The actress commented "sorry lovely" when one fan penned an emotional message about her departure from the show.
The message read: "My current mood until Kate Connor leaves."
Another fan wrote: "Not ready to say goodbye to Kate Connor next week."
Faye responded: "Thank you lovely."
It's been a turbulent time for Faye who recently wrapped up filming for Coronation Street as well as ending her engagement to her longtime love Gareth.
The actress was said to have had a brief romance with Sam while she took a break from seeing Gareth, according to The Sun .
A source told the newspaper: "It was the talk of the Coronation Street set when Faye and Sam hooked up.
"Her castmates were under the impression the break from Gareth was simply to do with feeling overwhelmed by the pressure to make wedding plans."
The insider added: "Sam was a good friend and a shoulder to cry on. Before they realised it, one thing had led to another. But Faye was keen to make things work with Gareth and put a halt to things with Sam going any further.
"She wanted to be honest with Gareth and confessed what had happened while they were apart. He thought he could get over it but, in the end, it was simply too much."
Mirror Online has approached a representative for Faye Brookes and Coronation Street.
In recent weeks, Faye revealed she called off the wedding to Gareth just seven months after he proposed.
