Ed Sheeran has been forced to self-isolate for the second time in just a few weeks, according to The Sun.

The singer-songwriter, 30, was reportedly told to remain at home for the next 10 days after he had come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19.

The red-haired performer was released from quarantine just a few weeks ago after he flew back to his home in the UK from New York after he took part on James Corden’s talk show.

It is unknown whether Ed, who recently met Prince Harry at the WellChild Awards in London, was believed to have been notified by the NHS app or contacted directly by the Test and Trace staff.

Meanwhile it is not known where the singer reportedly came into contact with the Covid-19 case.

This comes after the Thinking Out Loud singer shared a Royal Box close to Prince William, Kate and Prince George during England's semi-final match against Denmark on July 7.

The star was also joined by Boris Johnson, David Beckham and his ex Ellie Goulding, who put their nasty split behind them to enjoy the game.

A source told the publication: "He has taken several tests which came back negative but that doesn't make a difference so he's just getting on with whatever he can do from home.

"He has absolutely no idea when he came into contact with somebody with Covid."

The insider added: "He was at Wembley for the Germany game but that seems a bit too far back – but there's just no telling exactly when and where it happened."

OK! has contacted a representative of Ed Sheeran for comment.

This comes after the Shape of You star received a call from the Home Office to check he was still quarantining at home during a podcast.

The singer was in the middle of an interview with the Harry Potter twins Oliver and James Phelps when the unexpected interruption came.

New dad Ed recently took a brief trip across the pond to the US to promote his new music after his break from the spotlight.

The UK Home Office checks in on UK travellers following their return from abroad to make sure they are staying home and isolating.

However, the call came just as the actors were interviewing their famous guest in their Normal not Normal podcast.

With the video still rolling, Ed was forced to pause their conversation as he took the important call.

As the boys struggled to keep their composure, Ed’s manager Stuart Camp joked: “It’s like being called by your teacher. "
