Ruth Langsford’s husband Eamonn Holmes, 63, has returned to Twitter to thank fans for their support after being plagued by personal struggles and health issues over the past few weeks. Eamonn was forced to take a break from his role on GB News after fracturing his shoulder, and then had to face the heartbreaking news of his beloved mother Josie’s death last month.
The former This Morning presenter was keen to mark his birthday today by showing his appreciation to his fans and friends for their kind words and helpful gestures.
Breaking his silence in view of his one million followers, Eamonn wrote: “Hello Everyone ….
“Recent Health and personal events have resulted in a huge outpouring of affection from people I have the privilege of knowing and so many that I don’t.
“I’ve done my best to say thank you and again I do today on the occasion of my birthday. U r all too good x.”
Fans took to the comments section of Eamonn’s emotional tweet to send him their well wishes.
Annemarie penned: “You deserve it all, happy birthday and I hope this year brings you health and healing.”
Andrea McCourt added: “Happy birthday, you have had such a difficult time . All the best .”
Brian Church replied: “Happy Birthday Eamonn, hope you’re pain free very soon.”
Virginia Worley commented: “Happy birthday, I hope Ruth is going to spoil you.”
It comes just weeks after Eamonn announced that his mum had finally “reunited” with his dad Leonard, who died in 1991.
Alongside a photo of Josie waving outside her home, Eamonn wrote on Instagram: “My 4 amazing brothers and I said Goodbye for the last time to our beautiful Mum Josie this afternoon.
“She’s at last reunited with Daddy now. That is our only consolation.

“We loved and will miss her so much.
“Every time I visited her she came to the door to bless me with Holy Water and Wave goodbye Now sadly it really is Goodbye Mummy x.”
Eamonn also took to Instagram today to share that along with his own birthday, he will also soon be marking his late mum’s birthday.
The star shared a photo of him smiling with Josie on the sofa, writing: “So my Birthday today and Mum’s tomorrow .
“She passed away just 2 weeks short of her 94th but we shall always be joined at the hip. Saggitarians. Always too alike.”
Due to his health struggles, Eamonn was unable to attend his mum’s funeral in Belfast, but spoke virtually to the congregation to pay a loving tribute.
The presenter admitted during his speech, according to Belfast Telegraph: “A few weeks ago she said to me she didn’t want me at her funeral anyway.
“That is what she said… ‘Because you would just turn out to be the the fella in the big picture — it would all be about you’.”
The former ITV host has been suffering from chronic pain for several months and was then left with a fractured shoulder following the tumble at his Surrey home.
The accident meant Eamonn had to undergo a second operation within the space of just a few weeks.
