Download Festival will no longer be taking place this year due to restrictions on large-scale outdoor events in England.
England’s planned roadmap out of coronavirus lockdown will be eased only a fortnight after the Donington Park event’s scheduled dates of June 4-6.
“We never gave up hope of bringing the festival back to Donington this June and had been working so hard behind the scenes to make that happen, but sadly, we now know it’s not possible. We’re heartbroken for everyone in the Download family, from artists to suppliers and of course our passionate Download fans,” organizers said on the festival’s website.
However, the good news is that the event has been re-scheduled to June 10-12, 2022, with KISS, Iron Maiden and Biffy Clyro as headliners. System Of A Down have been replaced by Iron Maiden.
All 2021 tickets will remain valid for next year’s festival. Alternatively, those who want to receive a refund from their ticket agent need to wait for an e-mail from them.
