Dani Dyer opens up about feeling ’emotional’ ahead of Santiago’s first birthday

Dani Dyer has revealed she has been feeling "so emotional" as her son Santiago will soon be turning one.

The 25 year old, who recently hit back at cruel mum-shamers for criticising her son's development, shared her thoughts on her Instagram story with a picture of her adorable boy having some food in his high chair and smiling for the camera.

"Been so emotional this month as my baby is turning one… Where has the time gone?" she wrote with a crying face emoji.

"So proud to be your mummy x."

It isn't the first time Dani opened up on Santi turning one, as she shared online last year: "Sooo emotional. Can't believe he is turning one… very cliche but the time has just flown by."

Dani welcomed Santiago with her ex boyfriend Sammy Kimmence in January 2021 and she has since brought up her son on her own after Sammy was jailed to 42 months after scamming two victims out of £34,000.

The star has always been open about her motherhood journey on social media, but it took a bad turn after some mum-shamers inundated her with nasty comments about how long it has taken Santiago, 11 months, to start crawling.

"Santi has only just started crawling…" she began to write in an Instagram Q&A. "He waves and claps his hands, but every baby is different, I had a few mums with the negative opinions on how their baby was crawling by six months.

"And there is NO need to ever compare babies, they are all at their own pace."

Another fan asked Dani about how she overcame "judgemental" mums soon after her son was born.

"It's more of a reflection on them,” the Love Island favourite shared.

"I would never feel the need to judge someone on anything.

"Everyone's got their own stuff going on and sometimes it's better to keep your opinion to yourself."

She added: "Nobody is perfect."

It was quite a difficult year for Dani after her former partner and the dad of her son was sent to prison, but she has never looked so happy with her new boyfriend, footballer Jarod Bowen.

Dani opened up after a follower asked: "Name three things you like about Jarrod."

She continued to gush with a snap of her beau placing rose petals on a bed: "Just so lovely, genuine, funny. Also very fit," with a series of laughing faces.
