Christine McGuinness takes cryptic swipe at ex Paddy after shock split

Christine McGuinness appeared to take a swipe at her estranged husband Paddy McGuinness, in a cryptic Instagram post.

The 34 year old recently announced her split from Paddy, 48, after 11 years of marriage last month.

On Thursday, Christine uploaded a montage clip of herself enjoying the single life as she ventured across London alone, while the song On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons played alongside it.

The former model also posted a smiling snap of herself embarking on her solo travels as she was pictured beside her luggage, with the caption: "And suddenly you know. It's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings."

Fans were happy to see Christine getting on with life following her split, and took to the comment section to praise the star.

One person wrote: "That's absolutely true, new hairstyle new life begins. Wishing you love and very best wishes in your new ventures."

A second follower said: "You're a strong amazing lady, you have a lovely smile, keep that smile… you go girl", as a supportive user commented: "Go Christine, hold your head up high an go for it."

A fourth suggested Christine try out for an upcoming show, as they added: "Good luck with everything that comes your way Christine. Never ever forget you are amazing. I think you should do Strictly, you would be ABSOLUTELY AMAZING."

This followed other comments from fans who called for Christine to be on the next series of Strictly Come Dancing which arrives on BBC screens next month.

Christine and Paddy, who share twins Leo and Penelope, nine, and daughter Felicity, six, confirmed their split after 11 years in a joint statement, after rumours had surrounded the pair for weeks.

It read: "We hadn't planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify.

"A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children. This was not an easy decision to make but we’re moving forward as the best parents we can be for our beautiful children."

The statement went on to say that the pair still "have a great relationship" and asked for privacy for the McGuinness family during this time.

Since the split announcement, Christine made an appearance at the England Women’s final game at the 2022 Euros, where she looked in happy spirits cheering the team on with friends.
