In court papers, filed at the Manhattan Supreme Court on 13 August, the accuser alleged that she was plied with drugs and alcohol before the musician abused her at his apartment at New York’s Hotel Chelsea several times.

It is claimed that Dylan, real name Robert Allen Zimmerman, used his fame to groom, control and gain the trust of and control of the plaintiff, who is only identified as J.C.

She alleges that this was all “part of his plan to sexually molest and abuse” her.

J.C, now 65, has accused Bob, 80, of “assault, battery, false imprisonment and infliction of emotional distress”.

The papers read: “Bob Dylan, over a six-week period between April and May of 1965 befriended and established an emotional connection with the plaintiff.”

It is also said that J.C has had to seek long term medical treatment following the alleged ordeal.

A spokesman for Bob Dylan told Express.co.uk: “The 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”

The singer has not been arrested in relation to the claims.
