The Virgin Media Bafta Television Awards might be mostly virtual this year, but the stars that will be taking part in the studio had a bit of a different experience with hair and make-up backstage.
Emily Atack and Tom Allen, who are hosting the pre-show coverage, were snapped in the glam room ahead of their appearance, but bosses had put extra precautions in place to make sure it was all done as safely as possible.
The hair and make-up artists were photographed doing their job while wearing personal protective equipment amid the coronavirus pandemic.
As well as wearing a disposable mask and surgical gloves, the glam team were also seen wearing face visors to be doubly careful both they and the celebs were at as little risk as possible.
Actress Nina Toussaint White was also seen having her make-up touched up in the Kiko Milano backstage make-up session as she sat in an intricately detailed gown.
While the Baftas usually sees all the stars descend onto London for the night, this year’s event has had to be adapted due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Originally due to take place on May 17, the event was pushed back to July 31 due to lockdown and ongoing social distancing restrictions.
The event will be hosted by Richard Ayoade who will be joined in the studio by guest hosts including Normal People’s Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones while the winners and nominees will participate via video link.
The awards will also be filmed from a closed studio to ensure the safety of the hosts, participants and crew while still bringing the much-loved awards to the masses.
The Virgin Media Bafta Awards airs on Friday 31 July from 7pm on BBC One.
