Amanda Byram shares joy at welcoming baby boy after ‘fertility struggles’

Amanda Byram has shared her joy at welcoming a baby boy following her fertility struggles.

The TV presenter announced on her Instagram page that she and her husband Julian Okines have welcomed a baby son posting a black and white picture of the baby gripping her finger.

She revealed that her new baby is called Phoenix Blaze Byram Okines as she opened up about her 'long' fertility journey.

The 48 year old talked about the 'heartbreak' she experienced but says the new arrival is 'magical'.

Alongside the photo Amanda wrote: "And then there was you….

"Im so overjoyed, full of love and bursting with happiness to be able to share with you that @julianokines and I have welcomed our incredible son, Phoenix Blaze Byram Okines into the big wide, wonderful world.

"What a privilege that he entrusted us to nurture and guide his little soul through the endless possibilities of life and we are eternally grateful to him for choosing us to be his parents."

She mentioned that when she struggled with fertility it turned to 'hopelessness' which she said people tend to put 'before your job, your friends, and your life'.

Amanda said she wanted to share the 'magical news' in the hope it will inspire others in a similar situation to see the 'light at the end of the tunnel' as she called them 'powerful warriors'.

She added: "Now that he is finally here, we realise we have never been more ready or felt more mentally, physically, and emotionally equipped to be his mummy and daddy."

Amanda thanked her husband Julian for being her rock over the years saying he had kept encouraging her to carry on even when they faced difficulties.

She said that it was down to him that the three of them are now together due to his enthusiasm and energy.

She wrote: "We are so lucky to have you, and Phoenix is lucky to call you his Daddy, I know you are already his hero. We love you infinitely."

Amanda thanked her midwife Dawn and the team at Juniper Midwifery in Brighton, as well as the staff of the NHS.

Her friends took to the comments to congratulate her on her new arrival.

Fearne Cotton wrote: "Love you three more than words can describe."

While Laura Whitmore said: "So much love to you and Jules! So exciting!!" as Andrea McLean added: "Oh! Oh! Oh! Amanda! I’m SO HAPPY for you! Huge love and congratulations."
